Who are The English Soap Company?
The English Soap Company story began in 2000, when founders Bob & Juliet discovered a number of vintage soap moulds lying disused in a machinery workshop farm in Kent, England.
Inspired by their discovery, Bob & Juliet spent years perfecting the art of soap making and perfumery to make the perfect soap. A soap bar smooth and silky in texture, that moisturises rather than dries the skin, and above all is effused with a luxurious designer perfume that lasts until the end of the bar.
From Kitchen Table to Farm
As the business grew Bob & Juliet moved their soap operation out of their kitchen and on to a local farm in the Sussex countryside.
From here the business grew from strength to strength as demand for their soaps increased.
All of their soap, hand creams, hand and body wash and candles and produced on their idyllic farm site. Their laboratories, warehouses, production rooms, offices and packing barns are all located there.
In 2012 Bob and Juliet’s son Oliver took over as Managing Director, along with his wife Ailsa, as Business Development Manager. They now export to over 40 countries across the globe with partnerships including The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew and even Barbie!
To this day The English Soap Company is proud to remain a family business with the team ever-growing.
In 2023, The English Soap Company still makes all of their soap and skincare products on the farm site in the heart of the English countryside, in beautiful Waldron, East Sussex.

We endeavour to be sustainable in everything we do. We are proud to say that all soaps made by us are in completely plastic free packaging using either paper wraps or board both of which are fully recyclable.

The English Soap Company is a family run business and we are committed to making beautiful, quality products. Our perfumes are all sourced from major English fragrance houses and all products are made in the heart of the English countryside in East Sussex, England.

Beautifully designed and packaged, all artwork is created by an in-house team to the artisanal tradition.

Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew Collection
The Kew Gardens collection is an exclusive range of luxury hand soaps, hand washes, hand creams and hand sanitisers, inspired by the fragrances and beauty of the plants at The Royal Botanical Garden, Kew in London.
The Kew Gardens collection has 17 fragrances to choose from, in fruity, fine and floral perfumes. All packaging is adorned with beautiful illustrations selected from Kew Garden’s historic archives to give the products their unique design.
Anniversary Collection
2020 marks our 20th anniversary of luxury soap. To celebrate this landmark occasion, we launched the Anniversary Collection, a range of shea butter soaps in 17 new fruity and floral scents.
These wonderful soap bars are for your basins, baths or showers and fill any room with their long-lasting perfume.
The English Soap Company Anniversary soap bar is made in the UK with pure vegetable oils using traditional methods. These soap bars produce a richer lather, are longer-lasting, and have a silkier, luxurious effect on the skin than standard soap bars.
We make every product ourselves in the heart of the Sussex countryside, using the finest quality ingredients. All our perfumes are made in England by expert perfumers and have been designed specifically for the English Soap Company.
